Maple Sugaring — Sundays, February 21*, February 28, March 7, and March 14*, 12:30-1:30pm and 2:00-3:00pm
Learn how to identify a maple tree, discover the history of syrup making and how technology has changed the gathering of sap, check the tapped trees, and boil down the sap to make fresh warm maple syrup—a sweet treat for all to taste! Dress warmly; program will be both in and outdoors. Program intended for children and adults. Pre-registration requested.
*Register for a 3:30pm Nature Walk after these programs.

The maple sugaring season is underway at the Great Swamp Outdoor Education Center! Join in the fun at one of the weekend tree tapping demonstrations and enjoy guided walks, touchable artifacts, taste tests, and much more! Discover how maple sugaring has changed from its origination with the Native Americans to modern times. Thinking of making your own maple syrup? You are in luck, as spiles will be on sale along with easy instructions on how to get started!
