Fairfax County SACC Summer Camp

SACC Summer Camp will offer children the opportunity to participate in a variety of fun, skill-building experiences. This summer a traditional mini-camp experience will be offered at 24 SACC sites. This program is designed to offer weekly skill-building experiences geared toward all age levels. Throughout the day, children will have the opportunity to experience each mini-camp, or they may choose to stay with one mini-camp for the entire day or week.

Mini Camps
Visual Arts — Children will enjoy a variety of art experiences such as painting with acrylics, clay sculpture and woodworking.

Performing Arts — Children will discover their hidden talents and learn to express themselves through dance, acting and storytelling.

Sports — Children will have the opportunity to participate in various sports, and build on their existing skills. Traditional sports will be offered, including baseball, basketball and soccer. Volleyball and other sports will also be introduced.

Each mini-camp will incorporate outdoor experiences. Children will be able to participate in nature hikes, animal tracking, nature journaling, and bird watching, as well as many other nature experiences as they discover what they can do to help preserve local habitats.

Specialty Camps
SACC will offer specialty camps this summer in sports, performing arts and visual arts. A
going green wilderness camp and a new culinary camp will also be offered. Each of the specialty camps will offer in-depth, specialized focus on skill development and practical applications. Children will receive individualized, hands-on instruction as well as time to develop their knowledge and proficiency in their chosen camp. Each specialty camp promises to be a rewarding adventure as children have fun building their skills as actors, artists, athletes, chefs and outdoor enthusiasts.
