Potomac Overlook Regional Park & Nature Center

On the Potomac Palisades in north Arlington, Potomac Overlook offers 70 acres of peaceful woodland. Potomac Overlook’s Nature Center serves as the regional center for the Park Authority’s year-round programs of outdoor adventure and environmental education. Youth and nature-oriented groups and schools may make arrangements for special programs. The Nature Center houses wildlife and archeological displays, an auditorium, and naturalists’ offices. You’ll also find nature trails, a full schedule of programs, hikes, and concerts. Families can host birthday parties in the Nature Center’s auditorium that include a hands-on nature program. The Park also offers summer camps for children in 2nd through 7th grades.
The park is located at the end of Marcey Road, off Military Road, in North Arlington, VA. From Key, Roosevelt, or Memorial Bridge, take George Washington Parkway north, exit onto Spout Run, right on Lorcum Lane, right on Nellie Custis (which becomes Military Road), right on Marcey Road to park entrance. From I-66, take the Spout Run-Lee Highway exit. Turn left onto Lee Highway, right on Military Road and right on Marcey Road, which dead ends at the park.
